Our mission lies in making music accessible to everyone while assuring musical success for all players. Freenotes allows a novice to step right into ensemble play unlike any other system of instruments. The curriculum we plan to develop will likewise invert tradition and start to teach at the improvisational level, typically reserved for only the very best. Why improve, it's about being yourself. Much of music education is about reproducing what others have done (reading music) and not enough emphasis is placed on allowing players to do there own thing. It's actually much easier to be yourself than to try to be someone else. By focusing on sparking creativity and encouraging experimentation, players will experience their innate creative musical powers through a variety of harmony making, simple, improvisational activities. Our “music simplified” curriculum is based in traditional music theory yet simple and fun to play. It's also our aim to provide a teaching method that can be used by anyone to teach music in a new way. Please take a moment to fill out our brief survey. To thank you in advance – enjoy a free download of a CD by Grammy Award Winning designer of Freenotes, Richard Cooke. This CD demonstrates what's possible in the world of Freenotes. |
