Improved Drum Caps

new drum caps  Our drum caps are no longer painted!  A new process permeates the color throughout the cap - no more chips or scratches.

Our drum caps are no longer painted! Through a process called Calendaring, the color is injected into the plastic so it permeates the entire drum cap. This new feature makes the drum caps scratch proof and chip resistant. You will never see a white scratch or mark. The color runs through-out the entire thickness of the drum head.

The new drum caps are available in four new colors: yellow, navy blue, moss green and taupe.

The company that produces the material, Boltaron in Newcomerstown, Ohio is the only producer in the United States offering calendaring, extrusion and press laminating under the same roof.

The process includes taking raw materials in a powder form, and fusing them into a homogeneous molten mass through heat and friction shear in a mixing chamber. This molten plastic is then fed into a series of heated revolving rollers that squeeze the material to a desired thickness. The sheets of colored plastic are then cut into various items – like our new drum caps.

Try our new caps! To inspire you to do this, we are offering a $100 discount on a set of five drums with the new covers. The original caps are still available in the existing ten colors.new drum caps
